Maine Conservation Voters Action Fund has endorsed Richard Goldman for State Representative in House District 53.
Maine Conservation Voters works to protect the state’s air, water, wildlife, and working lands, and to hold legislators accountable for how they vote on those issues. Its Action Fund endorses candidates who will defend Maine’s environment in Augusta.
Richard spent part of his legal career practicing environmental law, and he hears about the changing climate from constituents at the door. His focus is practical: anticipate the damage instead of paying for it afterward.
I think we know what is going to happen with climate change. We are going to get some of these incredible storms, like the one we had a few years ago. We have to plan accordingly, and not pay for the storms to happen, but anticipate that damage is going to occur, or could occur, and try to plan so it does not occur.
For a district on the Kennebec, that means bridges, culverts, roads, and farmland that hold up when the water rises.
