Together, We Can Do Better | Elect Richard Goldman For Maine House District 53
For our families, our farms, and our future. Richard Goldman is running for Maine House District 53 to bring dignity, fairness, and real solutions to Chelsea, Dresden, Pittston, and Randolph.

My Priorities
I believe that every person is created in the divine image. Because of that, each of us deserves to be treated with dignity, and we have a responsibility to treat our neighbors as we would want to be treated ourselves.
No child in Maine should go hungry, and no parent should have to choose between a paycheck and safe, affordable child care. From expanding early childhood support to ending food insecurity, we can build a community where every family has the foundation to thrive.
Our local farms and small businesses are the backbone of District 53. By protecting our agricultural land, investing in rural infrastructure, and cutting red tape, we can foster an economy that respects our heritage while building a prosperous future.
Housing that working families can afford and a tax system that doesn’t push seniors out of their homes aren’t just policies; they are matters of dignity. We need to lower the property tax burden and expand healthcare access to ensure Maine remains affordable for everyone.

Frequently Asked Questions
Clear answers on how we can work together to build a fairer, more affordable Maine.
Why are you running for the Maine House?
I’m running because I believe we can do better. Our community needs a representative who leads with the belief that every person is created in the divine image and deserves to be treated with dignity. I’m focused on solving real problems, like housing costs and child care, rather than partisan bickering.
How will you help lower my property taxes?
We need tax fairness that prioritizes residents and seniors over special interests. I advocate for increasing the state’s share of education funding to take the pressure off local property owners and expanding programs that provide direct tax relief to those who need it most.
What is your plan for rural healthcare?
Improving healthcare means ensuring our river-valley towns aren’t left behind. I will fight to protect rural health clinics, expand mental health services, and lower the cost of prescription drugs so that quality care is a right, not a luxury.
How do you plan to support local farmers?
Farmers in Chelsea, Dresden, Pittston, and Randolph face unique challenges. I support land conservation initiatives, improving market access for local goods, and providing the technical resources necessary to keep our family farms sustainable for the next generation.
What does “We Can Do Better” mean to you?
It’s a call to action. It means we don’t accept childhood poverty, soaring housing costs, or food insecurity as “just the way things are.” It means we work together, treating our neighbors with respect, to build a Maine that reflects our highest values.
